Museum and education programme
The Van Abbemuseum is a museum for modern and contemporary art. The large international collection consists of over 3,600 works of art. The museum addresses questions about art and society in an experimental way. We challenge ourselves and our visitors to think critically. About the role of the collection as cultural 'memory', for example, or about the museum as a public space.
How do we at the Van Abbemuseum deal with the rapidly changing world? What is our role in society? Where do we want to go and how do we get there? To focus on these kinds of questions, the museum has identified four key areas: Inclusion & Multiple Voices, Demodernisation & Decolonisation, Collectivity & Solidarity, and Ecology. You can read more about them here.
We offer a suitable programme for every age group and learning track. You can find the programme here.
