Museum Cards can be purchased both at our ticket desk and online here. You can already reserve a Museum Card e-ticket with timeslot if you plan to purchase a Museum Card at the ticket desk on site.

Via our ticket shop you can purchase e-tickets, but it is not necessary. It is also possible to buy a ticket at the door.

No, friends always have free access to the museum. Bring your pass with you to the museum and show it at the ticket desk.

An e-ticket cannot be returned and/or refunded. Changing the date may be possible. For this, contact ticketshop@vanabbemuseum.nl

No, you can also simply walk in and buy a ticket at the ticket desk. Only for events and activities is it recommended to order a ticket in time so that you are guaranteed a spot.

Yes, the museum offers five free audio tours to guide you through our extensive collection display Delinking and Relinking. The Introduction Tour and Family Tour are ideal tours for young and old to start off with. Looking for a more in-depth tour? Choose the Bodily Encounters Tour, the Love Letters Tour or The Broader Story Tour. Download the tours for free via the Smartify app. You can find the Smartify app in the Google Play Store or the App Store.

You can join a free tour by one of our museum guides every day. Participation is free for visitors with a valid ticket. You can sign up at the info desk, it's not possible to reserve a spot. For information about (dates and times of) the particular tours, check our Activities page.

We do charge an additional fee for certain events. If an additional charge applies, you will find it on the event's page. You will also find a link to purchase a ticket or book a free ticket there.

The museum cafe is open when the museum is: from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, there is a limited number of workspaces available in the reading room of the library. This is meant for art historical research that cannot be done at home and reservation is required. Click here for more information and contact details.

The museum shop at the Van Abbemuseum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. You do not need a museum ticket to visit the museum shop. Our online museum shop is open 24/7.

Eindhoven is accessible via the A2, A50, and A67 motorways. Regardless of the direction you're coming from, drive towards the city centre and follow the signs to Q-park Parkeergarage Stadhuisplein or Parkeergarage Stadskantoor. These car parks are a 5-minute walk from the museum. Q-Park Parkeergarage Heuvel is a 10-minute walk from the museum. Coming from the south? P+R Genneperparken offers affordable parking after which you can travel into the city centre by bus or shared bike or scooter.

There are two disabled parking spaces next to the museum's main entrance at Stratumsedijk 2. Call +31 40 238 10 20 for assistance.

Artworks are delicate. To prevent any damage, we ask everyone not to bring coats, bags larger than A3 size, backpacks, and umbrellas into the museum. There is a limited number of free lockers available for storing belongings. Management is not liable for the loss, damage, or theft of personal possessions.

We have several tactile objects in the museum. You can recognise them by the green sticker with a little hand. All the other artworks should not be touched, of course. Please keep a responsible distance from the artworks for their protection. Running around in the museum is also not allowed. We ask parents or guardians to be extra vigilant with young children.

There are several toilets located throughout the museum. Almost all of our toilets are for all genders.

There is no time limit to your visit: you are welcome to stay as long as you want. We close our doors at 5 PM.

You are allowed to take photos using a smartphone or handheld camera. Professional photographers require an appointment made in advance via pressoffice@vanabbemuseum.nl. Separate rules apply for wedding photography. Always contact our Reservations department in advance at reserveringen@vanabbemuseum.nl.

Bringing or consuming food and drinks is not allowed.

To prevent damage, we ask everyone not to bring coats, bags larger than A3 size, backpacks, and umbrellas into the museum.

 Dogs are not allowed in the museum, except for assistance dogs on a lead.

At the bottom of the Practical Information page, you'll find more information about what we offer various visitor groups. Under the 'Unlimited Van Abbe' umbrella, we provide programs and activities that enhance the museum's accessibility for all visitors.

Our collection consists of approximately 3,400 works. Some of these are on display in the museum, while others are stored, on loan somewhere else, or undergoing restoration to be preserved for the future. The entire collection is also available to view online.

Visit the Collection page and click on 'on display'. This will show you all the works currently on show in the museum. It will also tell you in which gallery you will find the work.

Unfortunately, due to limited personnel capacity, we are unable to complete general questionnaires, participate in interviews, or provide insights into marketing, communication, and event ideas. However, if you still want to learn more about the Van Abbemuseum, we offer the following options:

- You are welcome to attend one of the meetings we organise around our collection presentation Delinking and Relinking and the workings of the Van Abbemuseum. These are primarily intended for our museum colleagues, researchers, and students, but are open to everyone (upon registration). These get-togethers will start again in October 2023.

- Every day, a museum guide is present between 12 PM and 4 PM. This guide can tell you all about the museum, our collection, and exhibitions, as well as about modern and contemporary art in general. Ask for the museum guide at the entrance desk, and your interview can start right away – no reservation is required.

- If you have conducted thorough preliminary research into our programs, target groups, events, or policies and still have specific questions, please contact the relevant staff member.
