Tent. An Autobiography in Sound, Eindhoven, Onomatopee, 25-08-2018, 30-09-2018. - Following sound as a subject matter through the cracks where it isn’t supposed to go, and by exploring the spaces between sounds, Esther Venrooy breaks away from traditional notions about sound. She explores this subject in balancing of her experienced practice as composer working with sound and installation art, with critical reflection. In the show at Onomatopee, she anticipates to this issue again, by engaging in collaboration with artists Hans Demeulenaere, known for his formal spatial responses to particular situations. Hans builds a stage, a scene, a decor. Here particular spaces leave gaps to opportunities, as well as it allows for cracks and serendipity, all in directed occurance.
