The works in this room are arranged around a balance, an interpretation of various devices to measure level and mass, such as a Kibble balance, plumb bob, and air water balance. The installation shows how art and design deal with the way we extract, value, and distribute matters, things, and resources, and the way we measure and scale these processes.

Tartı School consists of two parts. In the summer school, works by Geo-Design alumni enter into dialogue with the Van Abbemuseum’s design collection. The winter school, as part of Geo-Design curriculum, explores measurement and value regimes play a role at ASML.

The project is brought together by Merve Bedir and developed with Metahaven, heads of Geo-Design.
