Workshop Soph Boobyer

'to know with, what makes our grounds'

As part of the Soils Project Curatorial Research fellowship, Soph Boobyer has collected Dutch soil samples with museum visitors throughout the exhibition. These soils, displayed in jars, will be used to create an installation during Dutch Design Week. Participants can bring their own soil or use those already collected for the project. The sessions use rammed-earth construction techniques, where soil is layered into a mould and compacted to form a durable structure. This method will be used to create a large collective sculpture inspired by the Oosterscheldekering storm surge barrier, with decorative elements reflecting Noord Brabant folklore.  
 
The drop-in format allows flexible participation, whether contributing soil to the sculpture in 10 minutes or staying longer to craft tools and decorations. The final sculpture will remain on display until the exhibition closes in November. 

This workshop takes place from 1 to 5 PM.
