In this lecture, David Bennewith will talk about how he and Sandra Kassenaar developed the exhibition design for the Soils exhibition. He will explain how they started with nature’s forms and shapes, and how their ideas evolved throughout the project, working together with the curators at the Van Abbemuseum. While this is directly related to their work on Soils, these ideas also connect to David’s research on Joseph Churchward’s typefaces and his broader design work—offering an interesting look into both his personal practice and historical design research.
