The Van Abbemuseum presents the power of art with five artists (collectives) in the new exhibition Positions #8: Art is a Verb. On Saturday 7 December we celebrate this with a festive opening where you can visit the exhibition for free, but can also attend various performances, talks and other activities. You can also participate in short guided tours of the exhibition in Dutch or English. There are limited places available for some programmes, please register for these separately.

Programme

    • 14:35 - 15:15 Opening speech by Charles Esche (director Van Abbemuseum) and Saskia Lammers (Alderman for Welfare, Work, Poverty, Culture and Design Eindhoven) in the Auditorium
    • 15:15 - 15:20 Opening moment with Saskia Lammers in the garden
    • 15:25 - 15:35 Performance in the exhibition by participating artist Katrin Oddsdóttir in room 9
    • 15:40 - 16:25 Performance in the exhibition by participating artist Cristina Flores Pescorán in room 4
    • 17:00 - 17:15 Performance in the exhibition by Lula Amir in room 10
    • 17:00 Drinks in Van Abbe café
    • 18:00 End of opening

For the youngest visitors, we are organising a Family Art Club special between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, focusing on the constitution: what would the Netherlands look like if the kids were in charge?

Short guided tours

At various times you can participate in free (short) guided tours in Dutch and English. You can register for these at the information desk during the opening in the museum. These tours take place at 14:30, 15:00, 15:30 and 16:00. Full = full.
