In the exhibition Soils, artist Dorieke Schreurs showcases her process of creating natural pigments and paint, which have been used to decorate the walls. The colours, based on natural pigments and binders, narrate geological, cultural, and historical stories. For this exhibition, Schreurs has created colours that align with the themes and artworks, advocating for a more sustainable art world. During the tour, she explains the materials and pigments.
For the Van Abbemuseum, Schreurs is also organising two masterclasses on natural pigments. These masterclasses, which can be attended separately or together, focus on sustainable material development and circular practices.
The workshops cost €65 each.
