Subversive Film, Tokyo Reels.
Subversive Film invites you to watch the Tokyo Reels at the Van Abbemuseum, followed by a talk led by the faculty and students of the Maria Lugones Decolonial Summer School.
The film Tokyo Reels is on view in the exhibition Positions #7: Everything worthwhile is done with other people. The film consists of fragments by Palestinian, Arab, Japanese and American filmmakers and journalists between 1964 and 1982. It is tangible evidence of international solidarity with the freedom movement for Palestine. The work is made with twenty rolls of 16mm film that were trusted to Subversive film in 2017.
The event will be in English and the viewing will take place in exhibition space of Positions #7 Everything worthwhile is done with other people. Participants can meet at entrance of the Old Building at 15:00.
The program is presented in collaboration with the Maria Lugones Decolonial Summer School, which takes place annually at the Van Abbemuseum.
