Sarkis, Atelier d'Aquarelle dans l'Eau, installed at MAMCO Geneva
Time is often imagined as a river, always moving and changing. In a museum, things work differently. Artworks are protected from change, and inside, you rarely feel the rhythms of the water and the river outside. It is within this tension that Sarkis offers us the ceremony L’Atelier d’aquarelle dans l’eau.
Here, you are invited into a shared ritual of image-making with watercolour. Colour is dropped into water, creating shifting forms that slowly dissolve and disappear. Each gesture creates an image that exists only briefly, a fleeting, personal memory. As the water is poured away, the artwork vanishes. Yet something remains, carried within your body, itself composed largely of water.
This activity is free and takes place daily at 12:15 and 15:00
