Office of Queer Affairs: Open Office part 02

After our first gathering in April, one thing became clear: we want to continue. There is energy, there are questions, and there is a need for form. That is why the Office of Queer Affairs invites you to the first concrete step in the revival of the Office of Queer Affairs.

During this afternoon, we will meet (again), share stories, and explore what brings us together. Together, we will map out the energy, qualities, desires, and values we bring with us, and explore how these can form a foundation for the next phase. Nothing has been decided yet: this gathering is specifically a space to discover where we are, what is alive, and where opportunities lie to build further together. For this gathering, we are working with external process facilitator Annemarie Vaseena. She will guide us through the conversation and help make the different perspectives, qualities, and opportunities clear.

Potluck

Participants are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks, if they wish, but this is not required (potluck-style). The Van Abbemuseum will also provide snacks and drinks. Please note that there is no kitchen available.

Practical information

With a reservation, participation in the event is free, with space for 20 participants. Afterwards, the museum can also be visited free of charge. The event will be in English.

No problem. We would be happy to meet you. You are very welcome to join us. If you cannot make it this time but would still like to stay involved, please let us know by emailing queer@vanabbe.nl. After the gathering, we will send a recap of the meeting to everyone, including those who were unable to attend.

About Office of Queer Affairs

The Office of Queer Affairs (OoQA) is a fluid, mutating collective body involved with the Van Abbemuseum that embeds and entangles the perspectives of Eindhoven's queer community into the museum's curatorial practices, public programming and educational activities. In our group, we have members, ancestors, allies, lovers and frenemies, all living inside and outside of Eindhoven, each with their own desires, sensibilities and socio-political activisms. The group is always loosely weaved together, sometimes gathering closer together to run projects and other times sprawling apart to grow in their separate directions.
