They influence politics, the economy, our bodies and our daily lives. ‘Fingers Crossed’ traces the history of the microchip. It begins with the people who handcrafted the first microchips 70 years ago. It then looks at how microchips are now manufactured automatically and on a very small scale.
In the early days, many microchips were made by groups of women, such as Navajo weavers in New Mexico, Nijmegen and Japan.
The lecture-performance presents archive material, contemporary artworks and original research on an interactive platform hosted by Superkilogirls.com.
