Eindhoven, Onomatopee, 00-00-2019 ; Porto, Design Biënnale, 00-00-2019. - Exploring the radical potential of fiction as a tool for social change through speculative design, afro-surrealism, critical fabulations and alternative pedagogies. To explore the relationship between fiction and design, Mariana Pestana set up a curatorial lab during the first edition of the Porto Design Biennale, in September 2019. The results of the lab - four workshops led by key design thinkers and attended by over 30 young professionals – were first showcased in Porto. These results will be post-produced at Onomatopee during Eindhoven Design Week in October, in a presentation and public talk, again open to participation. At Onomatopee, we will edit and riso-print a zine / insert to be included in some of the books.
