Description

Jonas Staal produced the photo series Anatomy of a Revolution: Rojava (2015) during his first travel to Rojava in 2014. It documents the emergence of radical new institutions since the start of the Rojava Revolution.

Entrance to a training camp of the autonomous people’s armies of Rojava, the People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), near the border between Southern Kurdistan (Iraq) and the canton of Cezîrê in Western Kurdistan (Syria).
