Free admission and special activities
This year on April 10 and 11 the 29th edition of the Museum Weekend takes place. The Museum Weekend is the largest cultural event in the Netherlands. The Van Abbemuseum organizes a number of special activities. Admission and all activities are free of charge during the weekend.
This year's museumweekend theme is temptation. Free tours give visitors a chance to learn more about the museum, the collection and the interesting exhibitions that are currently on show.
Programme Saturday 10 April
All day: sale of books and catalogues in the classroom.
12.00 - 16.00 hrs: Free tours
Start 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00 hours. Start at the infodesk
14.00 – 16.00 hrs: Free Children's Art Club (Dutch spoken)
In the Children's Art Club a group of kids aged 6 to 10 look at a number of artworks in the museum. Afterwards in the classroom they'll work on something that relates to what they saw in the museum.

Saturday 10 April, 16.00 hrs, the mayor of Eindhoven Rob van Gijzel opens three new exhibitions that are part of Play Van Abbe, Part 2: Time Machines. The programme for the opening of Play Van Abbe, Part 2 is:
16.45 – 19.30 hrs: Free tours by special guests guides.
18.30 – 19.00 hrs: Performance by Spartacus Chetwynd
The museum is open until 20.00 hrs Saturday 10 April.
