Photographs, drawings and other work by a number of young people from Eindhoven is shown in a simple maze of fences . There is also a fashion show, graffiti and there are music lyrics to read. From 17.00 bands will play in Dynamo.

- Lecture Activist Club Art Theft in Soviet Film - Oleksiy Radynski - free entrance 29/07/2010 18:00 - 20:00 Oleksiy Radynsky (Kiev/Ukraine) is a scholar of art and film theory with an interest in Soviet montage and research-based art practices. Author of studies based on the art of Dziga Vertov (Soviet pioneer in documentaryfilm and film theorist), Boris Mikhailov (one of the most important and still active fine art photographers from the former USSR) and Kira Muratova (director, scriptwriter and actress with a large Soviet and Russian oeuvre).

- Transition II Backstage at the Van Abbemuseum 07/09/2010 - 23/09/2010 During Transition, we invite visitors to come behind-the-scenes of the museum and share the live excitement with us. The Transition programme offers meetings with the staff of the Van Abbemuseum who will dispense their knowledge and professional secrets, visits to the bustling activity in the “museum kitchens” – archive, transport, workshops and library, and a special architecture tour through the hidden passages of the museum building, given by an architect from Eindhoven. Transition is the bridge between Part 2 and 3 of the exhibition programme Play Van Abbe. From 7 until 23 September there will be five different types of behind-the-scenes tours. Next to these, visitors can experience the museum in its transformation mode and observe the installation activities up close.

- NS Try Out Festival 21/10/2010 - 23/10/2010 The Van Abbemuseum is participating in the NS Try Out Festival, a three-day cultural festival which takes place from 21 to 23 October in and around the railway station of Eindhoven. The station is transformed into a big festival stage with space for theater, music, film, art, literature, and master classes for young and old. After a successful debut in 2009 at Leiden Central the festival now experiences its second edition. This year in four cities: Amersfoort on 30 September, the following weekend in Groningen and Leiden, in order to end on October 21 in Eindhoven. Several cultural institutions present itself at the station.

- Glow (Re-)discovering Eindhoven International Forum of Light in Art and Architecture 06/11/2010 - 13/11/2010 This year, the route of the Eindhoven Light and Art festival GLOW literally goes through the Van Abbemuseum. The artwork Infinity Mirrored Room – Love Forever (1994) by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is placed in the museum hallway. This is a structure with mirrors and lamps in which the visitors undergo a very special, almost psychedelic experience! This space as well as the museum entrance, the museumshop and the Museum Café will be opened every day until 24.00 hrs. On Saturday 6 and 13 November you can even visit the rest of the museum until 23.00 hrs, there will be a reduced entrance fee to the museum (€5). For this fifth edition of the festival, the GLOW organisation has asked members of cultural institutions in Eindhoven to select the artists. Two curators of the Van Abbemuseum, Annie Fletcher and Diana Franssen, selected in total 5 artists for GLOW. Next to Yayoi Kusama the invited Mark Bain (USA/NL), Graham Hudson (GB), Navid Nuur (Iran/NL) and Cerith Wyn Evans (GB). http://www.gloweindhoven.nl/

- KIOSK for Useful Knowledge: The Museum Live-dialogue No. 2: Brian Holmes and Charles Esche 25/11/2010 18:00 - 20:00 A live-dialogue between Brian Holmes, culture and art critic and activist, and Charles Esche, director of the Van Abbemuseum.Brian Holmes is a culture and art critic and activist, based in Paris and Chicago. In 2009 he received the Vilém Flusser Theory Award at Transmediale in Berlin. He gives lectures and workshops about the role and impact of art in different societies, with particular attention to the analysis of forms of resistance and the possibility of extradisciplinarity. Charles Esche is a curator and writer. He is director of the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven and co-editor of Afterall Journal and Books, London.
