The readings are dynamic, playful, imaginary, theatrical, intelligent of course and informative, but also discursive and preferably based on a personal (scientific/cultural) investigation.

A speaker –artist, philosopher, musician, filmmaker, journalist- is asked to make a presentation for the public on a totally unique scientific / historical / cultural research and theme.
- De verzamelaar: liefhebber of statusjager? Lecture Anna Tilroe (Dutch Spoken) 01/12/2011 19:45 - 20:45 Anna Tilroe, art critic, curator and professor emeritus of Art and Culture at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, is giving a lecture in the auditorium of the Van Abbemuseum at 6.30 on Thursday evening, 1 December on therelationship between the private collector and the museum. In 2010 she wrote the celebrated essay De ja-sprong, naar een nieuwe vitaliteit in de kunst (The affirmative leap, towards a new vitality in art). The lecture is organized by De Krabbedans Eindhoven and has close links with the exhibition The Collectors Show in the Van Abbemuseum, with artworks from 10 private collections of regional collectors.
- Demonstration Aesthetics Erik Krikortz in collaboration with Your-space 19/04/2010 - 30/04/2010 Public Presentation: 30/04/2010 Queen's Day - you can see signs of demonstration around the centre of Eindhoven. At the Stratumseind entrance of the Van Abbemuseum there will remain an interactive sound installation until 13 May, 2010. See blog for details.
- Discussion Territory - Marko Peljhan 17/06/2011 19:30 With support of the Foundation Promotors Van Abbemuseum the museum recently bought the work 'Territory 1995' of the Slovenian artist Marko Peljhan. This work is a monument to a recent event that connects the Netherlands with Bosnia for ever. Marko Peljhan followed the war that went on in former Yugoslavia in the early ninetees and especially the genocide in Srebrenica where 8000 persons were killed by the Serbs. He brought together the colllected information on this military operation in the installation 'Territory 1995' and with this he created a labyrinth behind which the most unthinkable and unimaginable hides.
- Dutch Design Week in the Van Abbemuseum Lecture, dance performance and guided tours 20/10/2012 - 28/10/2012 During Dutch Design Week the Van Abbemuseum presents two artists: Piero Gilardi (Turin, 1942), and David Maljkovic (Zagreb, 1973). Piero Gilardi The exhibition will focus on his works from the period 1963-1985. Gilardi initially produced large, hyper-realistic sculptures of polyurethane foam, the so-called Nature Carpets. With these interactive sculptures he tried to give new meaning to interaction between viewer and artwork and nature and culture David Maljkovic For Sources in the Air, David Maljkovic presents an overview of his practice from the last ten years. The spectres of modernism – its politics and aesthetics – loom over and inform this multi-faceted oeuvre consisting of sculpture, collage, painting, drawing, and architectural mises-en-scène.
- Dutch movie premiere: Comuna Under Construction from filmmaker Oliver Ressler 18/03/2010 18:00 - 21:00 Thursday March 18, 18.00 hrs, the Dutch movie premiere of the film Comuna Under Construction will take place at the Van Abbemuseum. The filmmaker Oliver Ressler will be present during this movie. Afterwards he will be available to discuss his film with the visitors.
