Het Apollohuis

Publications

04/09/2007 - 29/10/2007
Location: Van Abbemuseum: Library

Het Apollohuis was an independent platform that signalled developments in the arts. It was based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in a former nineteenth-century cigar factory.

Every year from 1980 to 1997 it organised approximately 20 exhibitions and installations, as well as 40 concerts and performances. Ten years ago it closed its doors, but programming went on at other locations until 2001.

Ever since its foundation, Het Apollohuis also published prints, books on artists, multiples and audiotapes. In recent years it has also developed into a publishing house of books and CD’s. These publications supported the programme, while promoting the reputation of the artists and Het Apollohuis.

In the exhibition it will be possible to listen to the CD’s and to have a look at a selection of the books on display.
