- From a to b. Brouwn, Fulton, Kawara, Long Plug In #36 15/12/2007 - 13/04/2008 This Plug In shows the works of artists who have made the covering of distances the starting point of their work. Richard Long, Hamish Fulton, On Kawara and Stanley Brouwn belong to a generation of artists who started looking for new directions in art at the end of the 1960s.

- Get hooked! Gallery Tante Netty - Woensel West 04/09/2011 - 30/10/2011 On Sunday September 4th at 15h00, Tante Netty opens the exhibition Get Hooked! The exhibition features works of the online popular artists and urban knitters Anna ‘Mochimochi Land’ Hrachovec (VS) and Thomas C. Chung (AU). Local urban knitters present their work as well. During Dutch Design Week (22-30 October), visitors can join tag knitting workshops, yarn bombing parties and guerrilla knitting events. The exhibition runs until October 30st.
- Guppy 13 vs Ocean Wave; a Bas Jan Ader Experience, 2010 Ahmet Öğüt 24/08/2012 - 31/03/2013 The Guppy 13 is one of the smallest sailing boats in the world, and only 300 were made between 1974 and 1975. The Dutch artist Bas Jan Ader wanted to cross the Atlantic on one of these boats, called the Ocean Wave. He left from Cape Cod on 9 July 1975, but after three weeks radio contact with him broke down. Nine months later his boat was found unmanned by a Spanish fishing boat, about 240 kilometres from the Irish coast. Ader’s body was never found. The boat was taken to La Coruña in Spain for further investigation. A few weeks later the boat was stolen and it has never been found.
- Hana - Mariëlle van den Bergh & Mels Dees Library Exhibition 11/11/2012 - 11/01/2013 Following a residency in Japan by the Eindhoven artist Marielle van den Bergh a precipitation of the workflow and a book are presented in the library.At the library blog of the Van Abbemuseum you can follow the expierences of Marielle van den Bergh and Mels Dees during their residency in Japan.
- Heartland The exhibition 04/10/2008 - 08/02/2009 For three months, the city of Eindhoven will play host to art and music from the heart of the USA. Visitors will be given an introduction to an unknown part of a very well known country.
- Het Apollohuis Publications 04/09/2007 - 29/10/2007 Het Apollohuis was an independent platform that signalled developments in the arts. It was based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in a former nineteenth-century cigar factory.
- Het Oog (The Eye) 28/01/2009 - ongoing Het Oog (The Eye) is a new area in the Van Abbemuseum that offers a stage to artists to create new work during a working period of six months. The Eye is a special location in the ‘open-air’ of the museum where artists conduct a specific work on the spot.
- Het Vierkante Ei - semi final exhibition (The square egg) 12/04/2011 - 29/04/2011 Het Vierkante Ei (The square egg) is a visual arts prize for amateur artists by the newspaper the Volkskrant. After six preliminary rounds, including one at the Van Abbemuseum on Saturday 19 March, the work of the semi finalists is shown in a special exhibition in the Studio of the Van Abbemuseum. In the tv broadcast of Kunststof on 17 April the winner will be announced. More information about the Vierkante Ei 2011 is available in Dutch at the website of Het Vierkante Ei.
- Hollands Kabinet (Dutch Cabinet) Sara van der Heide 21/01/2012 - 12/08/2012 The serial work Hollands Kabinet (Dutch Cabinet) started on October 14, 2010 – the day that the minority cabinet Rutte, supported by the Freedom Party (PVV), took power. From that moment on Sara van der Heide made a drawing of a Dutch cabinet every day. Hollands Kabinet is a colloquial term for the Dutch government, but also the name for a traditional Dutch storage cabinet. The collection of cabinets grew and became more varied with each new day and drawing. On 23 April 2012, the cabinet fell, which means the work is now given its final form. On that day, the last drawing Cabinet 558 was added to the series.
- Houseproud your-space 18/10/2008 - 26/10/2008 Houseproud is a collaborative exhibition inspired by the everyday design of residential windows in Eindhoven.

- Ian Wilson Plug In #47 27/09/2008 - 08/03/2009 Conceptual artist Ian Wilson (1940 in Durban, South Africa) has been interested in spoken language as an art form since 1968. He describes his own work as ‘oral communication’, and later on as ‘discussion’. At Wilsons own request, his work is never recorded either as film or audio in order to preserve the transient nature of the spoken word.
- Igloo Nero Plug In #33 15/12/2007 - 15/11/2009 ‘Igloo Nero’ by Italian artist Mario Merz (1925-2003) is a work full of contrasts. He made the inner igloo of black asphalt in the period between 1967 and 1979. On it are the ‘handwritten’ words in neon letters ‘luoghi senza strada’ (places without streets).
- Imagination into power Living Archive 22/09/2007 - 09/03/2008 This Living Archive exposes the history of the legendary artist initiative Het Apollohuis in Eindhoven using the extensive archive of Het Apollohuis and personal archive of Paul & Hélène Panhuysen.
- In de vitrines Nach Kippenberger 22/11/2003 - 22/02/2004 In de vitrines van de bibliotheek zijn alle boeken van Martin Kippenberger tentoongesteld, verschenen tussen 1977 en 1997.
- In Juxtaposition Exposition scholars Strabrecht College 13/05/2010 - 20/05/2010 In Juxtaposition is an unique exhibition that opens on Thursday May 13. Around 100 VMBO-t, HAVO and VWO students of the Strabrecht College in Geldrop show their graduation projects that they made for their visual arts and handicrafts examination.
- In memory of Edy de Wilde Director of the Van Abbemuseum 1946 - 1963 13/12/2005 - 03/04/2006 Our former director Edy de Wilde died on Saturday, 19 November 2005. He was 85 years of age. As a tribute to the man and his work, we are presenting a small documentary exhibition drawing attention to the period of his directorship at the Van Abbemuseum.
